Ally, Sheena Parks, Julia

Ally and I met Sheena in the lunch line our first day at WSA as a result of a shared love for a skirt… It seems the lunch line is where you meet some the coolest people! Sheena is responsible for Public Relations and Marketing for Matisse, and Coconuts by Matisse, based out of El Segundo, Ca. Sheena has a great sense of humor and down to earth view of the industry, which I really appreciate. We just can’t take ourselves too seriously, and I love it when people embrace the fact that one can successful and fun!  When asked for some of her opinions, she said “I will start with the rant (which I repeat over and over to our sales team) below and you can take it from there.”

1. ” Relax people, they are just shoes. It’s not like we are developing the cure for cancer here for goodness sake, we are selling shoes.”

2. “We are doing well because we are better than everyone else… no really, we are. Haha.”

3. “Mass media is the worst thing you can let get into your head. If I took everything the news and internet broadcasted to heart, I would end up driving my car into oncoming traffic on my way home. Work as you normally would, and get creative; it’s the only way to stay ahead.”

4. “We have been building our line around “Hybrid Fashion” (I swear to God, I’m going to trademark that phrase) which enables us to sell a wide variety of customers. There are ways to wear trends without looking like Posh, Lohan and Richie all threw up on you. Save it for the tweens, ladies… seriously, think about it.”

5. “I wish I could think of other things to BS about. Moral of the story… we are still better than everyone else. ”
