Dan Mauney, his new “dress” code and his store Step by Sloan
by JULIA

My dear friend Dan owns a shoe store in Charlotte, NC where I used to live. I have asked him countless times to contribute to Shoebiz and it has now become a running joke that he will always send me something “asap”, yet nothing ever arrives. This is especially humorous because Dan is very active on his facebook page, so the “I don’t have time” excuse doesn’t work. So….today Dan decided to tag me in this lovely photo….and as a result he makes his debut on Shoebizness.com! Maybe not the way I initially wanted but nonetheless he’s here. I will sleep better knowing that his fans will now be able to find him on this site! I get so many letters and emails daily asking me when our readers will have the opportunity to learn from the perspective of a true Southern Belle and influential industry megastar.  I hope his fashion sense and fearless personal expression inspires many!!

The story here is that Dan decided to enforce a new dress code for his employees and they did not feel it was fair that he did not comply. I have to say those are some sweet kicks hes got! Dan’s facebook status currently says: “Dan Mauney is still wondering why so many people spend so much time trying to fit in when they were meant to stand out….why?”   At least he practices what he preaches! :)

You can visit Dan’s website at www.stepbysloan.com! Happy debut Dan…next up Ocean Drive Magazine!
