Industry Salaries-What positions pay…..
by JULIA
I have been asked a couple of times recently what specific positions in the industry pay, so I thought I would share. Please keep in mind this is based on my experience as a recruiter and does not necessarily reflect the industry as a whole. I am listing the positions I have the most experience with. Please let me know if you have questions or comments!

Make that money!
Managers and Supervisors in Store: 13-15 dollars per hour or roughly 34k per year
Retail District Managers: 50k-80k
Wholesale Sales Reps: On average reps make anywhere from 80k per year up to 200k+ depending on experience and comp structure. The trend I am seeing these days is for companies to pay a higher base with a lower percentage of commission able to be earned or set quarterly bonuses for meeting specific goals.
Wholesale or Retail Buyer: Assistant Buyers 45-55k; Associate Buyers 55-70k; Buyers 70k-110k; Sr. Buyers 110k-150k
Wholesale or Retail Planner or Allocator: Assistant 40-50k; Associate 50-60k; Specialist 65k-75k
Designer: Assistant Designers 40-55k; Designers 60k-120k; Sr. Designers 125k+
Product Line Manager (PLM): Assistant PLM 40-50k; Associate PLM 50k-65k; PLM 70k-90k, Sr. PLM 90k+

Corporate Communications and PR: Assistant 40k-55k; Associate 60k-70k; Specialist 75k-90k
From department to department most salaries at the director level and above are generally consistent. They do vary depending on which part of the country you live in. North Eastern cities and L.A. generally are about 30% higher. Salaries usually are in these ranges:
Directors: 120k-160k base + bonus
Vice President: 180k -220k base + bonus
