Oboz’s founder John Connelly says he’s sold everything BUT shoes out of his
trunk including early enterprises called ‘Tight as a Tick Security Agency’
and ‘Captain Snoball.’

John and the team love the footwear business above all, and he relishes
saying the ‘footwear war is won on the retailer’s wall’ and things like
that. Oboz, so far, has done quite well in just a year, with major retail
partners including REI and Kathmandu (sells in the UK, Australia and New
Zealand) as well as scores of specialty stores in the U.S. and Canada that
cater to outdoor enthusiasts.
