Continuing with their amazing mission, The TOMS Shoes 2009 Vagabond tour will be taking place at Caffé Luce, 943 E. University Blvd, Arizona today at 6 p.m. The event is being put on by a team of traveling TOMS “vagabonds” who hope to raise awareness for the plight of shoeless children worldwide. “TOMS has figured out a way to pair purpose with a product,” said music senior Corey Ferrugia. “For the same cost as any other pair of shoes, I am putting shoes on the feet of somebody who really needs them.”Kelly Dunavant, a member of the group of vagabonds that will be at Caffé Luce, said apart from Argentina, TOMS is active in delivering shoes to children in need across the globe. I’ve seen that dying or even cropping are some of the methods you can use to “recycle” shoes that you STILL don’t want to get ride off, but it seems that revamping old shoes can go way further than that, and yep, that may include your precious stamp collection (really people still have these??). Nike should be getting ready for a pretty tough competitor. Under Armour, sports apparel line known for their anti-sweat fabrics, just proved that they can overcome their own projections by increasing their sales to 200 million dollars above the 181.6 million analyst had forecasted as a result of the launching of a new running shoes collection “The athletic footwear market represents an enormous growth opportunity,” Under Armour Chief Executive Kevin Plank said in a statement.
Marketing expenses in the quarter were 16.5 percent of revenue, and the company said it still expected to invest in marketing at the high end of the range of 12 percent to 13 percent for the year. Good for them!  READ MORE

Paarmeta Ghoman, SF Budget Examiner, discovered San Francisco’s Market Street, MSMS ( Marshalls Shoe Mega Shop) location a few week ago and loved this little paradise of shoe heaven. At first look the section within Marshalls can be daunting as there is so much going on in there but you have to take a closer look to discover the little treasures that lurk in the aisles. With hundreds of different brands, styles and colors to choose from you might be in there for awhile so give yourself time! FULL ARTICLE

Doing good is contagious!  Twenty-one year old entrepreneur and footwear retailer Alex Curavo is pledging to donate more than 1,000 pair of shoes to children in third world countries by the end of the year through his newest venture, My Kids Feet. My Kids Feet has partnered with non-profit Soles 4 Souls and has pledged to donate one new pair of shoes or sandals to a child in need for every pair of Morgan & Milo or Dinosoles brand children’s shoes sold on the company’s website in 2009. “Being a new start-up with modest sales, my goal is to donate 1,000 pair of shoes by the end of the year. If we can do more, I would be very excited,” Curavo said.
