I featured  designer Christos Dovas’ story last week and wanted to follow up this week with a little Q&A the he sent along. I am really excited to meet him in person in a couple of weeks during my visit to the big apple! As you can see from the photos, he has a very unique style and I am looking forward to working with him. J

What is my philosophy?

To conceive and create innovative with perfect execution; resulting in designs that naturally enhance a woman’s beauty.

What people will find reflecting in my products?

They will find passion, detail, definition of line, art, imagination, style, tailoring, craftsmanship, poetry, quality, elegance, beauty.

What inspires me to make the product?

I love a beautiful woman, I love beauty, and I love to create, to make women to be beautiful.

What do I express in the product?

The ethereal and quintessentially feminine designs epitomize style for the extraordinary world of my client, pieces from a collection which inspiration derives from Hollywood Divas. “Grace K.” an artful piece made out of individually placed rhinestones over silk lace. “Elizabeth” hand made silk and wool roses for a divine bouquet. “Gilda” the apotheosis of glamour.

Why am I a designer?

I am passionate about design, style and especially beauty. Imagination is my driving force that delights my clients. Exploring redefined designs of passion and imagination, long with the client’s anticipation for perfect appeal. Inspiration and passion to celebrate life!

Why did I want to be a designer?

I am a dreamer, I watched movies and I closed my eyes, I watched people talking and I closed my eyes thinking how could I bring to reality thoughts of my imagination. To create over the layers of secretive world and again to create again bringing up stories from books, paintings, sculptures, secret stories in light with my pencils and threads.

What is my goal?

To create for women beautiful designs with attention to detail from its inception as a simple sketch to the final stitch by hand to every creation that bears the signature “Christos Dovas New York.”

What is my satisfaction?

To deliver what women want.

What do I want to achieve?

The perfect design that reflects inner world, emotion, thoughts, character, personality, with a lot of handwork.

What motivates me?

My personal need for hard work, progress, success and happiness.

 What are my plans for the future?

 Looking forward to further development of our company. Through Fashion licensing deals-agreements for a broader customer approach and bigger clientele. There is a range of accessories designs on leather and skin and women’s shoes where our trademarks can be placed on. We can discuss agreements for collections development as to better your product, redesign, extension or subdivision of a manufacturer’s-distributor’s company to target wholesales.  The name and emblem of our company is registered trademark, we are open in every aspect of partnership.

It wouldn’t be surprise a collection for men since this happened after they sent me a special order of my accessories line “waist dressing” from Tokyo for a rock band.

Exciting feelings to catapult in uncounted heights as this of my participation in the 2009 Oscars with Sophia Milos, CSI Miami.
