If you want to do something, just do it now! That is how what Pastor Flowers from Midlands, Columbia SC encourages his congregation to donate their best to charity, yep, their best Sunday shoes. The mission: to provide shoes to the Oliver Gospel Mission in Columbia. But rather than walk away from church with a plan to do it later in the week, he encouraged them to do it right at that moment. The staff supported the challenge.”Someday, I’m going to do this. Someday. And talking about that some day today…that you go ahead and do it right now. “Fergilicious” is how this show is going to be. Fergie will be presenting in South Beach the showcase of her new shoe line this Wednesday 27th at club Mansion. Pretty nice way to finish Memorial Weekend uh? The collection features everything from strappy stilettos to sneakers to gladiator-style flat sandals, all featuring the singer’s signature moniker. No word on whether Fergie will actually appear at the fashion showcase. She is currently promoting the release of the latest Black Eyed Peas album, “The E.N.D.” The album hits stores June 9th. What a great idea! Test your running shoes before you actually get them! Finally, a Boulder, Co. running shoe company is giving this opportunity. Newton Running, manufacturer of a unique running shoe, is opening their first store on Friday just in time for the Bolder Boulder.  Just jog right in and you can experience a trial run outside the boundaries of the store’s four walls.The Newton shoe was an idea that was started in the late 90′s by Danny Abshire, Jennifer Abshire and Jerry Lee. Danny explained the design objectives are to support the foot naturally while running with emphasis on the ball rather than the heel. Good job Footlocker!! Reducing corporative costs, was a really god decision for the athletic shoe retailer monster. The New York-based chain reported on Thursday that its net income hit $31 million, or 20 cents a share, for the quarter ended May 2, compared with $3 million, or 2 cents, in the year-ago period. The first quarter of 2008 included store-closing expenses of $3 million, and a no impairment charge of $15 million. Read at WWD
