Alex and Julie

I would like to introduce you to my new assistant and Shoebizness.com contributor, Julie Gautier Prado or as you will know her, “Julie the Frenchie“. It is amazing how things fall into place! I contacted Alex Hagiage of My eShoe, through LinkedIn awhile back regarding his cool new technology and lucky for me he referred me to his friend Julie.  Julie has recently finished an internship with my favorite fashion mag Marie Claire, and was looking for an opportunity in Miami. I spoke with her on the phone a couple of times, but as soon as I met her last Tuesday in person, I knew we would get along. Julie and I spent the next few days together as I introduced her into the wonderful world of the shoes glorious shoes. She had a great time and was delighted to see how friendly everyone is. Apparently, this is not the case when working for the big fashion mags. Before her internship at Marie Claire, she interned at Harper’s Bazaar, so one can only imagine.

Julie will be officially joining us in August and will be helping with everything from the Shoebizness site to producing fashion shows. I am super excited to have her!! She is from Paris and only came to NYC two years ago. She brings a whole new perspective and country to our team. With her addition we now have 7 languages spoken between everyone….except me….I still only have one and struggle with it sometimes!  

Before her official arrival to Miami, Julie will be spending a month in Paris and will be talking to designers and shoe industry peeps from afar to bring us a perspective into the French shoebiz.
