Whoa, so this is Beyonce’s shoe line! Pretty cool styles I must say! Rolling in on the floors of the smota showroom is the two fabulaous salespeople, Al and Rebecca, sporting two fabulous brands: Dereon and Naughty Monkey. Both owned by Beyonce’s main company: House of Brands in San Diego, California.

According to what Mr. Al from Atlanta says, Beyonce’s mother, Tina, used to be a seamstress and she with Beyonce started this company after her fame came out by singing. The company has been around for a number of years now and have even started international sales. They sell to some prestigious companies such as: Urban, FootLockers, Champs, etc. and as of now, the athletic department is their biggest market.

The goal is for more market share in the other lines, such as evening outings, formal, and business shoes. The designs come from all different angles, sharing much mixed media and infusing hip hop and formality together will kind of put a picture in your mind of what the shoes have to offer. “There’s nothing basic. All these designs are for shoe lovers only!” says Rebecca, the Southeast Region Account Executive.

They also have a neat little marketing memorabilia that they give out…laughing monkeys! how cool is that huh? I think it’s pretty cool, even if I’m alone on that but no matter. Dereon and Naughty Monkey have been successfully penetrating the market and are in the fight against the recession like everyone is but they definitely have some key points of selling that nobody else can touch.
