Matisse Sheena’s Weekly Rant-The Lunch Hour
by Matisse Sheena

Last week when I was in NYC I decided to pop in on the lovely Matisse crew even though I knew by beloved Sheena decided to forgo the trip to FFANY so she could stay in LA and write her rant about WSA. I was a little hurt at first, but then I realized that she had a lot to write and needed all the extra time! Anyway, her “doggies” as she likes to call them decided to help me come up with a few topics for her in the upcoming weeks. The first one was lunchtime at Matisse, well although Sheena technically ranted, apparently the real story involved a football through a glass window which was thrown by Sheena. I have heard she will blame this on someone else, who I will allow to remain anonymous in fear of sparking an office brawl…..but I think there is more action than burgers and french fries Sheena!! Now I did hear that they have quite the exceptionally healthy diets as well. So here it goes although this week doesn’t really need the disclaimer, it gets one anyway. The disclaimer reads: “Sheena’s Weekly Rant is meant for entertainment purposes only and does not necessarily reflect the opinion of all Shoebizness contributors. Here on Shoebizness we like to highlight all different perspectives.” -Julia

This was technically taken at din din, but I am still trying to use up all these pics from nyc. This was taken at my favorite place to take industry friends, Sushi Samba. James (far left) is the Director of Operations and treats me really nice and those two on the other side of the table are Sheena (you might know her) and Rebo, two of my favorite West Coasters!!

THE “LUNCH HOUR”
This week’s topic is very different to say the least. Julia said that a mystery doggie helped her come up with this one….so; I thought I could give it a try.
A time designated for eating doesn’t really exist at Matisse, we more or less designate time to certain foods as opposed to actual meals. I would love to know how many of you actually take lunch breaks as per OSHA. I can honestly say, with the exception of a retail job I had when in high school, I have never worked with a set lunch break schedule. Not that there is anything right or wrong about it, I just don’t know any different. So, as previously stated, we base our eating schedule around cravings and/or stupidity.
To better explain I have listed the top 10 things consumed by 97% of our in-house employees, in order of frequency:
10) Brazilian BBQ – due to an honorary Brazilian with a knack for grilling.
9) French Fries
Pizza
7) McDonalds – yes, they do this often
6) PInkberry – duh, it the best thing ever!
5) Mexican Food
4) B.L.T’s
3) Doughnuts
2) Cheeseburgers
1) M & M’s – plain, cause we like to kick it old school.
After reading that list you should be in a diabetic coma cause most of us are on a daily basis. Yet, tomorrow is doughnut day, I guess you can teach old dogs new tricks.
