It is always exciting when I receive a press release from a company that I have not heard of before. That is because it means someone new has discovered my little website which is great! I never know what to expect when I make the connection, but I have to say when I set up a call with Fernanda Calvo, I was happy to discover not only a new connection, but a new friend.  She is awesome!  Fernanda and I spent quite a bit of time chatting on the phone and for anyone who knows me, this tends to happen. haha  She is from Argentina and landed in Los Angeles 8 years ago. She has a respectable career in fashion in the areas of marketing, PR, Sales and fashion show production. So of course we had several subjects we covered especially since my first trip to Argentina was just last year.  I thought it would be interesting for Fernanda to contribute about the brands plunge into the market on a regular basis and lucky for me she is up for it! I find it incredibly interesting to watch as new companies develop and certainly it will be cool to have it documented on this site. 

Girly Girl is a new brand which is only shipping their first orders this fall. The brand is marketed to teen girls who want to look fashionable but have a small budget and I believe they will do well….at least from what I see from the linesheets. All of Girly Girls shoes retail for $65 or less.  They have already been featured in magazines such as People, Footwear News and WSA Today as well as several daily shoe and fashion blogs. One of the interesting facts about this brand is that they are manufactured in Viatnam, which according to Fernanda allows them to give their buyers quality at a low price.
