Fossil is searching for a Sr. Designer to work on our women’s line of footwear. This person will manage the design process to ensure creativity, timeliness, quality, and financial goals of the business are met. High level of creativity and a broad understanding of design, construction and materials.

Principle Responsibilities:

 

1. Collaborate with Design Director, Sales and Merchandising to develop line direction for seasonal needs of the women’s business.
2. Provides leadership through product, business and design knowledge. Identify current collection needs, future needs, and pricing strategies. Cultivates an environment which encourages innovation, creativity, and research while maintaining awareness of competitor threats and overall development direction.
3. Clearly and professionally present ideas to the team, Design Director, Sales, and Merchandising representing the women’s line.
4. Plays a leadership role in meetings with the design team. Responsible for ensuring the completion, prioritization and trouble shooting of projects, from initial concept stage through production according to the product development timeliness.
5. Direct communications and negotiations with external vendors to develop, produce and ship merchandise on time and within pricing parameters.
6. Stay abreast of trends through shopping and research to educate others on new development, applications, processes, and technologies while facilitating the development of exclusive materials.
7. Develops and maintains relationship with domestic and overseas contacts and factories to ensure project accuracy and pricing expectations.

Requirements:

 

-Education: College degree in design (fashion, industrial, or graphic design)
-Experience: 5+ years in women’s footwear design
-Hand sketching skills
-Proficient in Adobe CS2 Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office
-Knowledge of material development process required
-Effective communication and presentation skills
-Ability to work in a team oriented environment
-Ability to multi-task
-Organizational and time management skills required
