It’s been a little while since we have heard from Jose, so I am happy to know he is still thinking about us! He sent me a little bit of scoop on the shoe trends in L.A…..always good to know what’s happening on the West Coast! Thanks Jose!! :)

2 major fashion themes are happening here in LA. :

Rocker looks (slouch , studs on straps, multi straps) on ankle to over the knee boots.  There are several fashion stories being mixed to create these looks like western, prairie, motorcycle, military, and loggers. It fits nicely with the ready to wear when it comes to skinny jeans and tights, plaid shirts , ruffled mini….. Even a pointy toe flat up to the knee simple suede slouch works.

Ankle Beaded sandals (multi beads, multi stones , multi straps)  are being worn as ankle jewelry … sandals with back zippers. Very native in a way!  Something, that I would expect in Brazilian streets are right here in my back yard.  The sandals emphasis the ankles.

You are already seeing top designers doing this look on high heel dress shoes and boots with vintage materials, soft leathers, chunky heels.  A very natural feeling…. that compliments nature…. even the colors are veg.  like tones, or muted.

Fred Segal’s store on 3rd street  has all these looks.  They are one of the stores that looks the freshest , so far.  Several stars are on this.

Some fashion looks good but is not wearable ….. these 2 are both. This is good, because it will sell, and right now we need it.

Regards,
Jose’
