My Favorite Buyer
by JULIA
Poor Sheena has been sick all week and she still managed to write a little something about her favorite buyer this week. I think her status on facebook stated she was sick since Tuesday, so I hope she gets better soon! Oh facebook….the ways it lets you know about what’s going on in people’s lives is priceless! I made her write about her favorite buyer, even though I knew it would be easier for her to write about her least favorite! Sometimes I like to make Sheena say nice things! haha Okay but for real, I hope she feels better soon.

MY FAVORITE BUYER
To pick my favorite buyer, is a very hard decision. The obvious choice for me was an independent buyer since they are, by nature, much kinder individuals. However, once I sat and pondered my choices I came to a surprising decision.
I heart our west coast TJX buyers. Since we sell them closeouts or special, very inexpensive make-ups we deal with a few select individuals on a weekly basis. Not only do they always answer their phones, they are completely aware of the footwear business and really create a no-fuss, no-muss environment for us to sell shoes in.
Don’t get me wrong; I love our big buyers and specialty store buyers too. I have a few that are very near and dear to me, but, when I had to factor every angle of business, they did not score all A’s. The main problem with independents is you end up being more friends than actual business counterparts. It tends to cause problems when your little buyer can’t pay their bills or cancel orders on you. I have found that even my closest buyer “buddies” have or will do something not so friendly from time to time.
Thus the conclusion I came to. I chose a couple buyers that are really great and straightforward. I appreciate knowing how both parties will conduct business on a constant basis.
This may be a little short, but my hate list is much longer that my love list.
