Doing a little touch up on the street.

I thought I would share my little side passion which as  a lot of you know is fashion/art related. I love to paint and decided I wanted to try it out on a model for a fun impromtu photo-shoot with friends. I have been really inspired lately by a friend of mine, Tomas Loewy  who goes out to Burning Man every year and captures all sorts of crazy art through his photography. For those of you who don’t know, Burning Man is a festival out in Nevada that takes place every year. It attracts like 50k people and they spend millions of dollars and extensive amounts of time creating these amazing displays of abstract art which use people, structures and nature as the canvas.   It’s simply amazing and I love browsing through Tomas’s pictures…which you can do so yourself at www.coolpoolevents.info.

Nadine Candelario was the patient and lovely model, my friend Doug Peterson was the photographer. It took me 5 hours to paint her and we shot for about another 5 so it was a long day, but so much fun!! I even had the opportunity to get behind the camera which was amazing. I wasn’t quite sure what I was going to do with her when I showed up, but she ended up looking like an abstract art super hero. I loved it and it seemed so did she….we also caught the eye of Dennis Rodman standing outside of a popular restaurant here on South Beach which was funny. Anyway….just thought I would share!!

Nadine was such a good sport that she even let me paint her eyelashes and brows.  I love this.

This shot was taken at a local grocery store and it’s one of my favorites….funny thing is that people really didn’t even stop what they were doing and notice her. South Beach is a funny place.

Love this! Definitely have to be a model to look that beautiful painted like an alien.

This shoot was so much fun and definitely only the beginning as I know realize how much I love turning people into art. It’s not about the fashion to me….it’s about the creativity. Thanks to Nadine and Doug for being great sports and really really good at what they do. Without a great team it’s only a good idea.
