Matisse Sheena’s Weekly Rant, Sheena Interrupted
by Matisse Sheena

girl-interrupted

Sorry we are a day late….hopefully you remember my apology.

Last week when we were pondering what Sheena’s topic  would be, she mentioned something about being a crazy person, which made me think of the movie Girl Interrupted. I personally think she is more like Angelina Jolie’s character, but don’t tell her I said that! lol  Anyways, we are all crazy….some of us just hide it better and know how to function in society without spilling our crazy onto other people….it’s what makes us unique and different! We just need to learn to embrace our crazy and put it towards our work and that’s how cool stuff happens…..and if what I say is true…I am REALLY crazy. haha  The disclaimer reads: “Sheena’s Weekly Rant is meant for entertainment purposes only and does not necessarily reflect the opinion of all Shoebizness contributors. Here on Shoebizness we like to highlight all different perspectives….  -Julia

SHEENA INTERRUPTED

This week’s rant is a little bizarre. I have to asses my surroundings and address how completely insane I am becoming. I can treat this as my first step to recovery.

Has anyone ever considered how crazy everyone is in the shoe business? The other day, I had an out of body experience and felt as if I was hovering over myself and watching my life from afar. The picture was not pretty. It was one of those frantic days where I was on the phone with a buyer, trying to do fitting on production and everything in between. Never the less, I have been a busy bee. The added spice of a few square pegs in the workplace doesn’t help secure my sanity either. I feel like Winona Ryder’s character in Girl Interrupted. You know how she felt like everyone was crazy except for her? Turned out she actually was crazy, but we wont go into that.

At the office, in our “product” side of the building, which we have appropriatelydubbed “Hell”, we can pin point our sales reps reactions to certain goings on. I have categorized every one of them with characters from One Flew Over the Coco’s Nest. As funny as that always is, I am now Winona freaking Ryder. So now, no more making fun of my fellow reps. I am crazy now, too. I will blame the shoe business entirely. But, I will also attribute the biz to keeping me on my toes and entertained while making a good living.

So, as I question my sanity on a weekly basis, I can only realize I have become a part of an elite crowd of crazies. Just like Winona, I had to look in the mirror and realize I am too, completely out of my mind. I’m sure Nurse Ratchet would agree, this just might be my road to recovery.

Sorry so short, but how much could I possibly rant about how crazy I am?
