I was introduced to a brand spankin new site called shoegazr.com by a shoe industry fan and come to find out they are based right here out of Miami! I spent some time on the phone with one of the founders, Steve Clark and it seems they have a great concept in the works! Shoegazr.com is the web’s first social shopping website for shoes (as far as we can tell), where people bookmark and rate shoes found online.  Relying on the “wisdom of crowds”, our goal is to bring the web’s most interesting shoes together in one place.  Members submit shoes for free, and the shoe “inventory” is 100% user-driven; truly popular shoes and stylish people naturally surface.  Similar to sites like Twitter, users can “follow” other users whose style they like, learning about new shoe designers and retailers in the process.

We are a small group of shoe lovers and internet marketers living in Miami. Whether it’s South Beach glamour or retro/urban fashion, Miami has provided no shortage of inspiration in the creation of ShoeGazr.com.  In this spirit, we invite our users to express their unique style and connect with people who are similarly passionate about shoes…this, we think, is a big part what makes the site fun.

Here are some of the site’s features that we are most excited to share with you:

• Bookmarklet – Members can be shopping on a separate website and can save any interesting shoes to their ShoeGazr profile using the bookmark feature.
• Groups – Small retailers are invited to grow their online presence by creating a virtual space on ShoeGazr.
• Facebook – There is no need to create a separate ShoeGazr account.  Anyone can sign in with their Facebook ID using Facebook Connect. When bookmarking, FB Connect users can simultaneously post a snippet about their shoe discovery on their Facebook feed.
