Yay – Sheena’s back! We had a great time in NYC hanging out….thanks to her boss I learned that my knee has great reflexes. haha  So yet again, another brand is talking about MAGIC over WSA….hmmmm….seems to be a big trend! I hate to say it but I think WSA made a big mistake and opened the door for MAGIC to step in and provide the necessary elements to make a great trade show for everyone!  I don’t know how they are going to get back in the game after Feb….I think the FN Platform show is going to rock!  The disclaimer reads: “Sheena’s Weekly Rant is meant for entertainment purposes only and does not necessarily reflect the opinion of all Shoebizness contributors. FFaNY AND THE FALLEN ENEMY

So, the years end is approaching and I am reflecting on our last shoe show, FFaNY. It was a great show, Fall 10 is fantastic and we are looking forward to a great season ahead.

Interestingly enough, there was a lot of talk about the February shows. Whether or not it was planning ahead or feeling out buyer attendance at the appropriate show, rep and buyers were talking. I found that most buyers are committed to coming back to New York for February and going to Vegas for MAGIC. Ha ha ha. The mighty have fallen. Going forward WSA has since altered their dates to not compete with FFaNY. Thank God is what I say, It’s hard enough to manage staffing two shows at the same time and I am personally thankful that this dance does not continue.

Back to FFaNY, the show was well attended and everyone I spoke to had a successful trip. Good to hear, especially as we round 3rd base of this crazy year. Buyers also seemed to be in good spirits and ready to write and get 2010 started off on a good foot. It was refreshing and positive and it was so inspiring for me. I am ready to hit the road and sell the shit out of our shoes!

I also ran into my home fry Julia in the wonder city of NY and spent some time catching up and having drinks with her darling self. We are both looking forward to an exciting 2010 as many things are going on and biz is booming! Ha! We are such bitches and totally full of ourselves.  Well, I guess that’s why people like us…or dislike us. Ha hahahaha.
