Congrats to Nick Cohen who made an appearance in the pages of W magazine this month as I discovered on my way home from NYC. Nick is the co-founder of UES which has made several appearances on Shoebizness. Nick was featured in an article about fashion peeps who also have successful careers as DJ’s. Hopefully I will get to check him out when he heads to South Beach for New Years!  :)

I know some Susan Lucci fans will be super excited about this…one particularly from NC named BRANT! According to FN, Susan has partnered with Fila for a line of fitness apparel to be sold on HSN launching today! I hope for Brant’s sake they come in xtra tall!! Congrats to Susan.

Stride Rite recently appointed Sharon John as their new president. Sharon has a long history working with multiple children’s brands such as Hasbro and Mattel. She will start her new role towards the end of December and will be looking to grow the brands portfolio, reporting to Collectives, Greg Ribatt who is the President and CEO of the Collective Brands Performance + Lifestyle Group. We wish her the best of luck in her new role!

Basketball star Allen Iverson is out of retirement and signed with the 76ers  and  Reebok saw this as an opportunity  to relaunch his first shoe, “The Questions” in limited quantity at Footlocker stores nationwide. The shoes originally hit stores all the way back in 1996 and were a huge success….hopefully it will once again be a big seller for the brand! Read more about the shoe and the relaunch HERE!

DSW will now be the official sponsor for the Miss America pageant and the official provider of footwear. Lucky for all the contestants! In a statement on Atlanta Business News, Miss America Chairman Sam Haskell III says DSW’s style fits with the updated competition and its message that Miss America is contemporary, hip and a style icon.
