Footwear Plus announced the nominees for their 11th annual Plus Awards – Excellence in Design 2009. Check them out HERE and vote!! I did, but  I won’t say for who!! My lips are sealed. :)  The winners will be announced on February 2nd, so stay tuned! !

For the 2nd time, Timberland will be the official footwear and apparel supplier for the Sundance film festival in Park City, UT by providing jackets and boots on more than 300 filmmakers and gloves on 2,000 crew members! Sheesh…that’s a LOT, but I am sure great exposure for the brand. Read more about what’s going on in UT on Footwear News HERE.

Check out what’s new in the eco-friendly land by browsing through THIS ARTICLE on FN where they bring attention to a new blog featuring eco-friendly fashion, new vegan footwear brands, packaging and manufacturing….an informative feature indeed!

Check out all the exhibiting brands at FN’s Platform the new shoe show during MAGIC.  I can’t wait to attend and expect to see many of my friends!! If you haven’t decided what shows to hit up in Feb yet, I definitely would say to make MAGIC a must…. I believe the new show is the beginning to something big!!

This isn’t necessarily good news….maybe somewhat interesting, but for next years Olympics, volunteers are being warned to cover up any obvious branding on their shoes. Specifically mentioned were Nike and New Balance. I guess they don’t want any confusion over sponsors???
