Zappos Corporate Challenge Update!

This looks like soooo much fun! As promised, Mike sent me an update on the corporate challenges that Zappos is participating in this year and it looks like they are having a great time and doing great! I love it! I hope that they keep having fun and take home a whole bunch of medals! Mike has more updates coming, so stay tuned! Go Team Zappos!
Corporate Challenge Update
Corporate Challenge opening ceremony was March 24th. The first event was held on the opening day called the “Executive Relay”. Our team (left) of Millie Chou, Alfred Lin, Steve Hill, Tony Hsieh and Fred Mossler took home the Silver! It was a fun event where they had to tie a necktie, bounce on a bouncy ball to the next leg and using plungers wrap a rope around the middle with the plunger end on each other’s head. From there Millie had the complicated task of arranging the cups a certain way. Hard to visualize so here’s some pix:
We have participated in the following events so far as a company: Executive Relay, Range Shooting, Racquetball, Flag Football, Swimming, 8 Ball, 5K, Fencing, 3D Dodge ball, Badminton, Darts, Bike Race and Walk Race. Before the Bike Race and the Walk Run (which we just did this week) Zappos.com was in 4th place overall.
We have won Team Gold’s in Swimming and women’s Badminton. To the left is our Swimming team who did an awesome job taking home 33 Gold medals, 14 Silver medals and 6 Bronze medals. Our Mayor, Jerry Tidmore (who helped me with the last tour for Julia, Elize and Anedie) took home 3 Bronze medals and a Silver! We have won Team Silver’s in the Executive Relay and 8 Ball.
We won Team Bronze’s in 5k, Darts and the Walk Race (which I participated in). Our 5k team brought home 5 Gold’s but still came in 3rd place overall. Our Walk Race team won a Gold medal, a Silver medal and a Bronze medal. We ended up 3rd overall. Below are some pictures of the events:

I have had a blast in all the events I have participated in and Track and Field is coming up next week. It’s been so fun bonding with people from the company and meeting people from other companies as well…
