Title: Footwear Designer
Function: Function – Design – Technical
Region: Southern California

Our client, Los Angeles based footwear company is looking for strong Athletic Footwear Designers. Responsibilities will include the following: This individual is responsible for the conceptualization and initial form development of the fashion-athletic shoe designs. Develops and creates illustrations and technical drawings, responsible for technical sketches, specifications and preparation of line sheets for new design concepts. Determines and specs materials, construction, shape and color and manufacturing processes. Works in collaboration with others on line building aspects. Uses knowledge of materials, patterns, and footwear construction. Presents projects in all stages of design to team and clients. Must have an eye for trends and strong technical design skills. Assists in the merchandising of the Athletic line. Experience working with manufacturing overseas, helpful.
Job Requirements: Education and Experience · Bachelor’s degree in design · 5-10 years experience designing footwear Knowledge, Skills and Abilities · Excellent illustration skills · Experience in the consumer products industry preferred · Ability to work in a team-based environment · Demonstrated success meeting aggressive project timelines · PC proficiency with Illustrator and Photoshop · Strong presentation skills · *Other duties may be assigned based on company needs
