Robert Wayne Following Season Trends
by Tara Bodt
Hi Everyone,
It has been long times since I’ve written anything for this site-almost 8 months. Lately, it has been non-stop with traveling and shows-no excuse! I love writing for this site, so I am a little embarrassed so much time has gone by. Either way, here we are, approaching WSA, Ffany, Magic and Platform, so I thought it was good time to write about some of the trends I see going forward. Going into Fall, I am noticing fashion transitioning to cleaner and more subtle looks. Some of the looks have shifted from stitch downs to more versatile lasts, softer leathers, washed suede’s, washed leathers, slight embellishments, cleaner bottoms, white bottoms; as a whole more moderate and contemporary.
Robert Wayne has moved forward with the new trends and the line looks refreshing, not as directional as before but definitely still fashionable yet understated. Along with changing some of our looks, we also expanded into more categories such as canvas, casuals and sandals.
Robert Wayne has also added a collection of shoes being made out of Portugal. This line puts to use washed leathers, lace-ups, wing tips giving a vintage yet sophisticated look. With all of the above being said, I don’t see denim going anywhere, but consumers looking for an all-around look. For example, the jeans have tonal, finer stitching as opposed to contrast and thicker stitching. Even the cuts on denim are cleaner, with a tighter, yet a straighter boot cut than before. T-shirts and button downs are toning down, not necessarily dressy, but a lot less busy. Military looks are in demand for both woman and men, with cargos, shirts and boots. Grey continues to be a big color. I’m not seeing that color slow down at all, along with greens and blues. With all of the above being said I’m hoping to see you at the upcoming shows and let me know of any of your favorite trends going into Fall. For August, we will be showing at Ffany as well as Platform in Vegas.

As a side note, recently, our shoes have been seen on Albie Manzo from the Real Housewives of New Jersey along with Reshard Langford from the Kansas City Chiefs. We gave Reshard’s stylist shoes for his NFL shoot and he ended up loving them. I can’t hear that enough especially from celebrities!! Special thanks to Dana Campbell!
Lastly, I want to congratulate Soyon An, a stylist I have been giving shoes to for the past couple years. Soyon was recently nominated for an Emmy nomination in the Costume design category. We have been giving her shoes for the American Idol tour for the past few years, The Tonight Show along with a couple other projects. Best of luck!
Thanks,
TBxo
