I started talking with Marcia Goodman from Jaguar Footwear when we posted a press release about the new and exciting brand that is launching this season. I was so excited to check it out at Platform because of our previous exchanges. I knew there was a sense of excitement coming from the person behind the e-mails. I could not have met a more pleasant person who was as excited for a brand as she was. She welcomed me with open arms and was thrilled to take me through the brand. She even grabbed the man behind it all, Fred Levey who believes this is the right time to introduce a new, fresh and exciting name because people are looking for that today. The entire lifestyle brand has a raw, earthy, and natural feel that was inspired by the lifestyle Fred witnessed on a trip to the Bahamas. He noticed the engineering of the boats and the color of the water that were all elements of this specific lifestyle that he wanted to portray with his brand. The elements of wood, rope, and canvas stay true to the thought behind Jaguar while giving their customer a go to, “on trend” shoe. Marcia compared the go-to shoe to a favorite pair of jeans that a woman always goes back to, which is an analogy I can completely relate to. With a handful of styles including great sneakers and sandals, my favorite is the canvas wedge. They put their own unique twist on it with the canvas going over the top of the wedge.

Marcia and Fred are so happy about the launch of this brand and were thrilled to share it with ShoeBizness! (Marcia is a fan of the site) I’m honored to have been able to meet with them because they are so genuine, down-to-earth and enthusiastic.
