Naya Round Two

I had the honor of being welcomed to the Naya booth again at Platform (the first time was at FFANY) and got a chance to chat with the wonderful people there. I experienced another personal tour of the fall and spring lines from Kasey Gibbs, the head designer for the eco-friendly yet stylish line. I also got to meet fellow FIT alum Jillian, who is also a designer for the line. I really appreciated them taking the time to guide me through not just their footwear but their entire brand.

Naya has such a unique feel to it having a natural element to each and every style. With things like leaf and flower details the root of the line, which is being eco-friendly, always has a presence. But it’s not just about that, comfort and style are always factors that go into it. The line has a vintage feel and Kasey says that it works for their customer because today there is such uncertainty with the future that a feeling of the past brings a sense of comfort. The Naya woman has an emotional connection to her shoes (don’t we all) and they are used as a way to be creative and as a form of expression.
I think there’s a lot in store for Naya in the future and one thing they are really excited about is their spot on HSN on September 2nd. You should all go check it out! I certainly think there is something truly unique about this brand and I think the down to earth feel of the brand starts with the people behind it. I feel so welcome by Kasey and Jillian who even took care of my trade show feet by getting me a band-aid when Jillian noticed I was having some issues! Well, I know for sure their shoes would have been way more comfortable than mine and my trade show feet issues would not have existed in the first place. Next time, I’ll know better!
