Hey everyone! Julia and I have been super busy but I’m finally back to the daily five! Today we have some great info from Emily Rodrigues from Pitch Control PR about the new HUF sneaker collection being sold on Karmaloop.com. The men’s shoe collection has a skater feel to it with some cool new styles. She shared with us that the new comfortable sneakers are made of canvas or suede, are great for the fall and come in navy, olive, black, red, and charcoal.  Thanks Emily!

You would normally expect the top ranked women’s tennis player in the world to be okay walking around in sneakers and casual athletic apparel, but not Serena Williams. She recently stated that she is nearly in tears when she gets injured from playing tennis and is unable to wear he beloved high heels. Fashion is really important to her and she loves all the girly things in life. She stated in SOBeFiT magazine, “I’m the complete not-normal athlete, and I often wonder how I got into sports because I hate working out.” Well, Serena the whole athlete thing seems to be working out for you! I’ve never really sat down and thought about how much work goes into a hand-made pair of shoes. A company in England called Green Shoes owns a handful of workshops that hand-make all their shoes, sandals and boots and Guardian.Co.Uk gives us an inside look into how it really feels. Rachel Dixon shared her thoughts with the world on how exhausting and difficult it is. I think I’ll just stick to writing about footwear instead of making it.

Here’s something so exciting!! A new website it launching today called www.Shoes.TV which is the first “online TV platform” that is solely about women’s footwear! The platform is launching with 11 shows that will feed women’s universal passion for shoes. This super fun and innovative site features Paris Hilton talking about her new line and different perspectives about women’s footwear, even David Arquette’s thoughts on high heels. Also, the site has a really cool feature where you can purchase some of the shoes that are talked about on the site right there! The studded Sam Edelman’s are awesome! If any of you are in London now through September 22^nd you need to go check out Vivienne Westwood’s showcase at the Selfridges department store. They are displaying the fashion designer’s footwear from 1973 to 2010! I love a sense of history behind a brand and I think it’s so cool they’re putting it right out there for everyone to see.
