The Daily Five, It’s All About the Good News!

Nike Air Maxes with a Wii Balance Board from Gizmodo.com

I always thougt the Wii was a really cool concept even though I’m not much of a video game person. Well, Nick Marsh, a contestant in a Nike challenge to “remix and adapt the function of Nike shoes”, made the Wii and Nike sneakers even cooler. He took a Wii Balance Board which is used with the Wii Fit and inserted it into the soles of a pair of Air Maxes to make his sneakers the controllers. It apparently gives you a better workout then the Wii Fit! Check it out at Gizmodo.com

Everyone is buzzing about actress Rita Wilson’s Prada glass slipper chandelier shoes from the Emmy’s on Sunday night. I’m personally not a fan and most of the reactions are negative but I think she looked beautiful minus her footwear. To each his own, right? Check it out at Style Bistro.com

And in more Emmy footwear (or lack of footwear) news, Thomas Jane from the HBO show Hung decided to go shoeless at the formal post-Emmy party hosted by HBO. The actor simply didn’t want to wear them anymore. He told Pop Eater he took them off “just because” and his strange behavior wasn’t even affected by the broken champagne glass nearby. Well, I hope he had a good footwear free night.

The fabulous luxury shoe designer Brian Atwood is entering a licensing agreement with Jones Apparel Group, Inc. to create a new contemporary line called B Brian Atwood. In the fall of 2011 the brand will be sold in better department stores and will retail between $200 and $400. This is so exciting for Jones Apparel Group, Brian Atwood, and me because I know it will be fabulous! Check out the press release at PR Newswire.

Also from PR Newswire, Sears.com is amping-up their online footwear experience. They are developing a website called the Sears.com Shoe Experience Website which will help their customers with everything from picking out a trendy pair of shoes to finding the right running sneakers. Sears is making the online shoe shopping experience more interactive for their customers.
