I’ve just learned about an event taking place tomorrow and had to write about it.  Anthroplogie has partnered with the Humane Society of New York for a pet adoption event and supply drive.  Tomorrow, September 25th from noon to 4:00, our areas homeless pups will be  at the store awaiting their new owners!

The Humane Society of New York has been present since 1904, helping animals with illnesses, injuries or homelessness.  They offer many services including clinic care, surgery, and even dentistry for your pets.  The society even has been able to start a free medical clinic, as well as, a small adoption center for cats and dogs.  What I love about the Humane Society is that they are unlike a lot of shelters.  What I mean by that is, they take the quality of life of each animal very seriously and give each animal personal care including walks outdoors, exercise, and even veterinary care while they are at the adoption center.

I want a puppy SO BAD it hurts.  I get jealous when I see others walking their doggies, I day dream about having a little cuddle bunny, and I seriously have almost bought puppy clothes even though I don’t even have a puppy….they’re just so darn cute!  My friends and family have even bought me doggy accessories for the day when I actually do become a proud mama to a little furry friend.  Unfortunately, I live in a pet-free building so I won’t be bringing a new four-legged friend home tomorrow, BUT I absolutely will be stopping by and making a donation to help those pets who have yet to find a home.  If you are in the area, and end up bringing a little buddy home, there is more good news…all pets adopted at the event Saturday will be entered to win a year of doggy daycare and a month of training classes!
