Flip Flop Shops is heading north! Very exciting news for a small Atlanta based company, at the moment they have 40 stores. Their deal states the businessman Doug Kingston will we in charge of the franchise to open 30 stores throughout Canada in the next ten years! Looks like he’s going to have it plate full for a while, hope fully the Flip Flop Shop will make its way down to New York someday!

Is this fall going to be all about the sneaker look? While some of you may be excited I am not sure a fan. Sneakers should remain with no wedge or heel! Women’s brands have given embellished leather sandals, buckled-up booties and mesh slip-ons a sporty edge. Game on…What are your thoughts? Yay or nay?

Newcomer Monika Nyzio will land in stores for fall ’11 with a footwear collection inspired by travel hot spots Paris, Vienna and São Paulo. Very exciting! The Vigevano, Italy-made collection is set to retail for $350 to $895 and is being targeted to high-end department stores Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, Bergdorf Goodman and Barneys, and boutiques such as Intermix and Chuckies New York.

A fun and different look into the movies. “Water For Elephants” gives you a sneak peek into what it takes to complete the actor’s footwear collection! “Finding enough footwear for all the extras in the speakeasy scene [was difficult],” West said. “We didn’t know when the camera would be on their feet, so we [had to] sit down with each [fully costumed actor] and pick shoes to match. It was like a puzzle.”
